Why do I have a charge for water during the time my house is vacant?

Customers are charged the flat rate for water, whether or not there is any usage on the property. You can request to have your water shut off if the property will be vacant, but that means you won’t be able to run water, flush the toilet, etc. This will reduce the water portion of the bill. There is a $50 reconnection fee to turn the water back on.
