When to Call 911
Call 911 in the following situations:
- Requests for medical help
- Reporting a crime that meets the following criteria:
- Is occurring now or within a 5 minute time lapse and is an immediate threat to life or property and/or the responsible person is still on scene.
- Reporting a fire
TeleTYpe / Telecommunications Device for the Deaf
911 is also to be used for emergency TeleTYpe (TTY) / Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD) calls.
Non-emergency communications are required for situations that are not personally or immediately threatening but do require your responding to the police department or having a police officer respond to your location. This includes:
