Valley Roundelay

Valley Roundelay is an architectural study inspired by the traditional American barn and made from jewel-tone, interlocking panels. This artwork is an homage to the rich agricultural history of Fife, and the immigrants of many countries who came to settle in the Puyallup Valley in the shadow of Mt. Rainier. Its modernist lines and materials reflect the community's evolution from the past into the unforeseeable future. For the artist, the classic barn offers a symbol of hardy self-sufficiency, solid shelter, a rural robustness, and the passing of seasons. A roundelay is a repeating refrain in music - Valley Roundelay hints at how family farms and commercial development have imposed cycles of change upon each other.
