The Throne

The Throne is a royal seat to celebrate the meeting point of water, sky and earth. With seats in three different sizes it invites children and adults alike to sit down, relax and use it as a photo opportunity.

This modern take on the classic royal throne will put a smile on locals and visitors. The stacked glass will illuminate at various angles of sunlight as if lit up by a spotlight. Sturdy for children to climb on, maintenance free and the practical aspect of seating could make this “Throne” a rich enhancement to the City of Fife.

About the Artist- Nicky Falkenhayn

Nicky Falkenhayn is a sculptor living in Portland Oregon. She spent the first half of her live as a PE and sports instructor, traveling 3 times around the world. Once she settled in Portland in 1990, art became the focus of her life. Classes at Oregon college of ART & Craft and Pacific NW College of Art launched her as a fiber artist. After the birth of her son she changed to sculpture and jewelry. Her work often combines heavy welded steel structures with plate glass or knitted wire accents.
