Pat has been a lifelong resident of Fife and is a graduate of the Fife School system.
Pat planned, built and owned the first wooden geodesic dome structure in Pierce County to conform to the International Building Code (IBC). This was the first residence designed and built in Fife to use both active and passive solar energy (1980). He is a strong advocate of the development and use of alternative energy sources for the future.
Pat served for several years on the Fife Historical Society Board of Directors. He was a member of the Board responsible for the vision, planning and remodel of what is known as the Dacca Barn Facility.
He is a advocate of Fife's community activity programs and sees the expansion of the summer youth activity program as an important issue.
Key points Pat supports:
That the residents need to be involved in the planning process to help to develop and guide growth within the city.
That long range planning is essential to the city for economic growth and fostering a livable community.
A proactive, easily accessible, transparent city government and the idea of working to strengthen our relationships with other municipalities, as well as the Puyallup Tribe, Federal, State and County entities.
To expand partnerships between public and private sectors while helping to provide a balance between business and the community.
To implement parks, open space, transportation and infrastructure plans funded by the voters and work in support of our resources to maximize benefits to the community.
Preserving the individuality, quality and security of our neighborhoods helps contribute to and develop the concept of a walkable community. This in turn will help provide for the unique and special characteristics of each neighborhood to be developed and enhanced for the future.
To encourage sustainable economic development including a long-range vision supportive of local businesses and entrepreneurship helping to create a foundation for future generations.
