To obtain a copy of an incident or accident report:
All requests must be in writing. Here’s a link to download the form.
Fill in as much as you can. The required information is:
- Names of involved persons
- Date of incident
- Type of incident.
- Requestor’s name, address, and phone
If an incident is still being investigated, it cannot be released until cleared.
If the incident is going to a Prosecutor for review, the case will be released if no charges are filed. If charges are filed, the Prosecutor will need to get the copy to you or advise us if we can do so.
There is a $5.00 charge for reports up to six pages. Thereafter, the charge is $1.00 per page.
Per State law, RCW 42.17.320, an issuing agency has five (5) working days to produce copies of incident reports, or advise the requestor in writing why this time frame cannot be met.
Requested copies are usually available on Fridays. We will call you when it’s ready if you so request.
