Property & Evidence

Property may be retrieved by appointment only.

If the item is evidentiary it will not be released without a court order, either from Fife Municipal Court (misdemeanors), or Pierce County Superior Court (felonies).  The prosecutor usually sends these orders to the property/evidence office within a few days of adjudication.  In that case, I will send a letter to the listed owner requesting that the property be picked up.

If the item has been logged into the property room as ‘safekeeping’, a letter will be sent to the listed owner within 1 or 2 working days requesting that the items be picked up.  The items will be kept for a minimum of 60 days, after which they will be destroyed or otherwise disposed of.

The property room is open from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM - Monday through Thursday.  It is closed on Friday.  The number is 253-922-6633 ext 5.  If you reach us after hours, please leave a message with your name and phone number.  It is our job to serve you, and we will return the call promptly.

For seized property, contact the Detectives Division only (253)-896-8281.
