This department is headed by the Finance Director, who also fulfills the duties assigned in the Fife Municipal Code to the Clerk-Treasurer. It consists of two divisions; the Finance Division and the Administrative Division. The Finance Division is responsible for accounting and financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, utility billing, treasury and cash management, debt management and budget. It ensures these functions are performed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and with the requirements of the Washington State Auditor. It is responsible for administration of the City’s accounting systems and for ensuring adequate internal controls over the City’s business operations. The Administrative Division is responsible for functions normally assigned to the City Clerk, including maintenance of public records including responding to public records requests, public notices, business licensing and many of the administrative functions of the City. This division also provides passport application services and library card reimbursements. |
